CFOAM® Carbon Foam Insulation Applications

CFOAM® carbon foam being used in a 2300º C vacuum and argon furnace manufactured by Watring Technologies, Inc.CFOAM carbon foam is a macro-porous carbon with foam like structure. This structure provides the advantages common to other foam like insulation materials. Unlike other insulating foam materials, CFOAM Carbon Foam can be used at very high temperatures.

Because of its unique structural and thermal properties, CFOAM Carbon Foam makes an ideal material for use in certain high temperature insulation applications up to at least 3000º C.

Shown here is an example where CFOAM Carbon Foam's high thermal shock resistance and dimensional stability over temperature makes it a desirable material for use in high temperature kilns. (Photo courtesy of Watring Technologies)
